Drug Therapy Management, Version 2.0 DTM 1 - DTM Program Offerings
The Basics
This standard simply requires that your organization describe, probably in a drug therapy management (DTM) program description, the scope of the DTM program's services and how those services will meet the needs of the program's target population. Very likely, your organization has such a document, which will describe how the program's interventions relate to the individual pharmaceutical needs of the members of the target group. It also will describe how educational materials fit into the program's services. Make sure that you are familiar with this document, and can retrieve it easily if asked.
Management Tips
Not only will you ease compliance with the standard by preparing a comprehensive DTM program description, but you will make the nature of the program, the services offered, and the target group, easier for both employees and clients to understand. This document will help not only with the standard, but nearly every other standard in this accreditation module.
URAC Accreditation Tips
The standard carries a weight of 2.
All you need to submit for this document is your DTM program description.
During the on-site review, the reviewer will select 30 consumer records to review for compliance with this and most of the other standards in this module. In addition, the reviewer will interview clinical staff and examine quality management documentation as it relates to this program.
