Despite the fact that neither the body of the current (v. 2.1) Core 6, nor any of the interpretive information, requires primary source verification for staff credentials, it seems clear that URAC has fast-forwarded to the new, not-yet-applicable v. 3.0 interpretation (now numbered Core 30), which does require primary source verification.
I know, I know -- if you're in the midst of a v. 2.1 review, you're supposed to be held to 2.1 standards and interpretations. This doesn't seem to be the case. So, we're recommending to all our clients, whether you're going through a v. 2.1 or v. 3.0 review: modify your P&Ps to require primary source verification of staff credentials upon hire.
